Bryanna Ray
Bryanna is a therapist-in-training and graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in History, African Studies, and African American Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. She is originally from New York, Long Island, but has called North Carolina home for seven years now and is grateful for the opportunity to serve clients in the Durham community.
Bryanna is passionate about supporting individuals and families through a range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and work-related stress or burnout. She is committed to providing a compassionate and affirming space for clients from all backgrounds and walks of life.
Bryanna practices from an integrative psychodynamic-ecosystemic approach, informed by cognitive theory. She believes that healing and growth occur when clients feel truly seen and understood within the context of their unique experiences and relationships. Bryanna works collaboratively with clients to explore the deeper patterns shaping their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while also considering the broader systems and environments that influence their well-being. By weaving together psychodynamic insight, ecosystemic awareness, and cognitive tools, she helps clients build self-awareness, challenge unhelpful patterns, and develop practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges.
Bryanna views therapy as a partnership rooted in authenticity, curiosity, and respect. She strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to explore their inner worlds, honor their strengths, and move toward greater self-compassion and fulfillment. Whether working through past wounds or present-day stressors, Bryanna is honored to walk alongside clients as they navigate their unique paths toward healing and growth.
Bryanna is completing her clinical mental health counseling internship at FSWC through May of 2027. As an intern, Bryanna cannot accept insurance. She offers a sliding fee scale ranging from $20 -$60 per hour. All intakes are a standard $20 regardless of income level.
