Abby Moore
Abby is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCASA) in North Carolina. Originally from Ohio, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati before relocating to North Carolina where she obtained her Master’s degree from North Carolina State University.
Abby specializes in working with adults who struggle with complex and developmental trauma, self-harm, codependency, substance use, anxiety/panic, depression and relational distress. She has a special focus in supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. She is committed to serving the LGBTQIA+ community and understands the impact of minority stress, systemic oppression and family-of-origin dynamics on mental health and overall well-being.
Whether someone is overwhelmed by cravings, stuck in a painful relationship cycle or processing trauma, Abby provides tools and support within a compassionate, collaborative environment. She supports clients in strengthening emotional regulation, building insight and increasing autonomy over their circumstances.
Abby utilizes a Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM) framework in her practice allowing for a deep understanding of the impact patterns have in our current lives. Abby utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support integration of skill building with relational work, mood and overall functioning.
With a trauma-informed and relational foundation, Abby strives to create a genuine therapeutic connection that is compassionate, inclusive and culturally competent. Abby believes therapy is a space where clients should feel deeply seen, respected and empowered to show up as their full selves. Abby is knowledgeable and affirming of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). She is experienced in working collaboratively with individuals seeking a harm-reduction approach in their recovery.
Abby offers sessions in both the Cary and Raleigh offices, as well as virtually throughout the state of North Carolina. Abby has limited reduced fee sessions available. To request, please contact her directly prior to scheduling.
