FSWC Practicum and Internship Program

WHAT DOES INTERNSHIP AT FSWC ENTAIL?
- Private practice setting where you will hold your own caseload, providing weekly hour-long sessions to individuals, couples and/or families
- Cotherapy opportunities for optimal learning and live supervision
- Advance your knowledge and training in systemic thinking and attachment theories
- Learn caseload management skills, documentation requirements, and EHR record keeping that will set you up for employment in a private practice setting
- Weekly supervision with AAMFT Approved Supervisor
- Participation in team meetings
- Access to myriad resources to expand your clinical skills

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have interest in attachment theory and systemic thinking
- Have proper work-life balance that allows for practicum/internship to take priority
- Is able to commit to our site for one full calendar year
- Desires a career in private practice
- Is reliable, responsive, a self-starter and able to meet deadlines
- Is able to dedicate evening and/or weekend hours to see clients (supervisor available by phone but not on site)
- Is actively anti-racist and accepting of all identities
- Is willing to explore blind spots, recognize countertransference, and address self-of-therapist factors
