Frequently Asked Questions
Yes and No.
While this assessment includes follow up sessions for skill building and growth, it is not used to treat a mental health disorder nor do you need to be a therapist to become a Prepare-Enrich Facilitator.
You may find the conversations therapeutic, or you may engage in this as a form of premarital therapy, however it does not comply with the medical model of therapy where you would have a mental health provider assess, diagnosis, and work off of treatment goals to alleviate symptoms that you are experiencing.
Each session is scheduled for 50-60 minutes. Your first appointment will include a review of your results and related recommendations. Per the prepare-enrich model, you can have up to 8 appointments where we work on your growth areas using structured interventions and relational conversations. If further support is needed, we will discuss longer term couples therapy options.
Each session costs $100. To complete your initial online prepare-enrich assessment questionnaire, you will pay a one-time fee of $35/couple to the prepare-enrich organization.
Your facilitator will provide you with log in instructions where you each will complete an online questionnaire. This may take 45 minutes for you to complete, as you read each question and answer from strongly agree to strongly disagree. Your partner will NOT see your answers, however your facilitator will.
Once both partners complete and submit their answers, the facilitator will be notified and will compile your “couples report” which outlines your strength and growth areas. This will be reviewed at your first appointment, and you will get to take your couples report with you.
At the end of your first session, you and your facilitator will discuss and schedule any follow up sessions that are needed.
Yes!
If you are receiving therapy with one of our Prepare-Enrich Facilitators, they can immediately incorporate this tool into your session interventions (you will just pay the one-time $35 fee to complete your PE assessment online).
If you receive therapy outside of our practice, we can complete the initial prepare-enrich appointment and send you back to your couples therapist who can integrate the results into your work with them.
Nope!
Different scales are for different couples. You may be considering moving in together, preparing to start a family, blending two families together, or adjusting to retirement. The specific assessment scales will relate to your specific relationship demographics.
