WHAT DOES INTERNSHIP AT FSWC ENTAIL?

  • Private practice setting where you will hold your own caseload, providing weekly hour-long sessions to individuals, couples and/or families
  • Cotherapy opportunities for optimal learning and live supervision
  • Advance your knowledge and training in systemic thinking and attachment theories
  • Learn caseload management skills, documentation requirements, and EHR record keeping that will set you up for employment in a private practice setting
  • Weekly supervision with AAMFT Approved Supervisor 
  • Participation in team meetings 
  • Access to myriad resources to expand your clinical skills

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL: 

  • Have interest in attachment theory and systemic thinking
  • Have proper work-life balance that allows for practicum/internship to take priority
  • Is able to commit to our site for one full calendar year
  • Desires a career in private practice
  • Is reliable, responsive, a self-starter and able to meet deadlines 
  • Is able to dedicate evening and/or weekend hours to see clients (supervisor available by phone but not on site)
  • Is actively anti-racist and accepting of all identities
  • Is willing to explore blind spots, recognize countertransference, and address self-of-therapist factors
