Emma Kuehnle

Emma is a Marriage and Family Therapist (NC LMFT pending). Originally from Connecticut, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the Eastern Connecticut State University, and her Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University. With over 10 years of working in the mental health field, Emma is most passionate about forming meaningful therapeutic relationships that aid her clients in addressing relationship distress, mental health disorders, and difficult family dynamics. 

Emma specializes in relationship and couples therapy, anxiety, depression, self-esteem and infidelity. Her work includes sex therapy, affair recovery, premarital counseling, divorce support, blended families, grief/loss, OCD, ADHD/neurodiversity, self harm, and suicidality.

Having obtained her Save Zone LGBTQ+ Ally Certification, Emma is particularly passionate about supporting individuals, couples and families of all identities and constellations. Emma is trained and passionate about working with neurodiverse and sexual and gender minorities, and provides gender affirming care.

Emma utilizes evidence-based modalities such as Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Bowenian Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to provide skilled interventions while upholding a warm, compassionate and accepting therapeutic environment. 

Emma believes in the power of connection and meaningful communication to create a deeper understanding of ourselves. She works collaboratively with clients from a non-judgmental and safe space. Emma is honest but compassionate, and she will meet you right where you are. 

When she isn’t seeing clients, Emma enjoys spending time with her friends, going for walk with her dog, Delta, spending time outside and listening to music. 

 

Emma is currently offering two-day therapy intensives for June 2025.
